James Koehler (MALAS '07)

James Koehler serves as a foreign policy adviser to Senator Ken Salazar of Colorado. He began working for Congress while studying at CLAS. In his current role, James manages legislation regarding foreign affairs, and acts as a liaison between the Senator and the foreign policy community. While a graduate student at CLAS, James served as a Teaching Assistant to Secretary Madeleine Albright.

CLAS helped open doors in D.C. in ways that other schools could not

When asked why he chose to study at CLAS, James said, "As part of the School of Foreign Service, CLAS helped open doors into the D.C. political and policy communities in ways that other schools could not. CLAS helped prepare me for my current position through rigorous academic study and access to the best and brightest minds in government."
