CLAS Promotes Key Research Programs

The production and dissemination of new research on Latin America is a primary mission of the Center for Latin American Studies. CLAS houses research programs sponsored by foundations, non-profit organizations, individuals, and the U.S. Government. Some of these programs address specific countries or sub-regions, such as Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, and the Andes, while other projects focus on particular prominent themes within Latin American Studies, including citizen security, good governance, and democratic reforms.

More about the Center

These research programs are led by Georgetown faculty with the support of graduate research assistants. In recent years, CLAS-affiliated research has been presented at a number of international academic forums, including the Latin American Studies Association Conference and the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales.
