Funding
The CLAS NRC provides has grant funding for certain educational activities, to enhance classroom offerings on Latin America. These activities include curriculum development, field trip travel, and summer travel for teachers.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
Funding is available to support educators who will develop lesson plans that significantly address Latin America. These grants help finance research and supplies needed to prepare an effective lesson.
FIELD TRIP GRANTS
Field trip travel grants are available to elementary, secondary, and postsecondary schools for trips to the nation's capital that facilitate the exploration of museum exhibits or cultural events that address Latin American topics. These grants are designed to further students' understanding of Latin America. Please submit a one-page proposal detailing the field trip plan, the students and school, and the cost of the trip to the Associate Director of Outreach and External Affairs.
SUMMER TRAVEL GRANTS
K-12 teachers and undergraduate professors who register for a summer institute organized by any Title VI National Resource Center are eleigible to receive funding to support travel and lodging costs.
