Entrecaminos

Entrecaminos is a student-run journal associated with the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University. The journal focuses on issues affecting the Latin American region. The articles submitted for publication may be drawn from any relevant interdisciplinary field and may be written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. The journal is published once per year in the Spring and articles to be published are selected by the graduate student Editorial Board.

Entrecaminos aims to provide a forum for scholarly discussion among members of the Georgetown community, students and faculty of both domestic and international universities, and Latin Americanists working in the field.

As recent events have shown, the increasing interdependence of political and economic systems in Latin America, there has been a blurring of the strict divisions of disciplines that formerly characterized Latin American Studies. Entrecaminos seeks to provide an integrated approach to the study of Latin America by including articles from all the relevant disciplines as well as articles that use varied approaches to the issues crucial to Latin America today: politics, economics, social conditions, and culture.

TARGETED AND BENEFITED AUDIENCES

Entrecaminos provides a scholarly forum for teachers and students of Latin American Studies and Latin Americanists working in the field. Any person may submit articles for publication consideration provided the topic of the paper relates to some aspect of Latin American Studies. Submissions are especially encouraged from the graduate level or above. The first issue of Entrecaminos, published in the Spring of 1995, included six articles from Georgetown University graduate students. Submissions are also encouraged from faculty and Latin Americanists working in the field.

Entrecaminos has been sent to, and sits on the library shelves of, a number of universities with strong Latin American Studies programs, including the University of Texas at Austin.
