INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

CLAS students and alumni come from a diverse background of professional and academic experiences, and have a wide variety of future goals. To get a glimpse into this diversity, read our student profiles.

Applicants to the Masters of Latin American Studies are expected to meet certain admission requirements of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. In particular, applicants must meet the English Language Proficiency requirements outlined by the Graduate School. International applicants can also find important information about Scholarships and Financial Aid and Visas and Financial Certification on the Graduate School's website.

One of the most important resources for international students at Georgetown University is the Office of International Programs (OIP). OIP provides services such as immigration advising, personal counseling, and cultural and educational programming for international students. The International Student and Scholars Services division of OIP can help international students with matters of travel, immigration requirements, housing, health insurance, academic life, and finances.

Once admitted, international graduate students attend the International Graduate Student & Exchange Participant Orientation, while new international undergraduates attend the International Pre-Orientation. Both orientations provide valuable information for incoming international students.
