Erick Langer, Ph.D. inducted into Academia Boliviana de la Historia

Tuesday, September 13 Dr. Erick Langer was inducted into the Academia Boliviana de la Historia at the Campo Ferial Chuquiago Marka in La Paz, Bolivia. El Diario de Bolivia published an article covering the award ceremony.

Dr. Langer is a Professor of Latin American History and an expert on the Andean region, on peasants, economic development since independence, and indigenous movements.  Dr. Langer has also worked on the development of the computer industry in Brazil.  He received his Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1984. Presently, Dr. Langer is working on a book examining the role of indigenous peoples in the economic development of the Andes during the nineteenth century.
