Realities and Challenges of U.S.-Cuban Relations

On February 12, join the Center for Latin American Studies in welcoming H.E. José Ramón Cabañas Rodríguez, Cuba’s ambassador to the United States, and the Hon. Jeffrey DeLaurentis (SFS’76), former chargé d’affaires of the U.S. embassy in Havana. The ambassadors will engage in a dialogue at Georgetown University on the strengths and weaknesses of the U.S.-Cuba relationship, the impact of diplomacy on the relationship’s trajectory, and recent developments.

José Ramón Cabañas Rodríguez serves as ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the United States of America.

Jeffrey DeLaurentis (SFS´76) is the former chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the United States, Havana, from 2015 to 2017 and current SFS centennial senior fellow.
