Agustin Grizia is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received a B.A. in International Relations from Universidad del Salvador and a M.A. in China Studies at Peking University. Patrick Kim

Specializations: Immigration, Organized Crime, and CT/CN

Patrick is a commissioned officer and graduate of the United States Military Academy.  In 2012, the Army selected Patrick to serve as a foreign area officer, regionally focused on Latin America.  Patrick has most recently served at the U.S. Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he liaised between the embassy’s Office of Security Cooperation and the Escuela Nacional de de Operaciones de Paz del Uruguay.

Lauren is originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida (a suburb between Miami and Fort Lauderdale) and is coming to CLAS after recently graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in Latin American Studies and International Affairs. Growing up in South Florida, she was exposed to high levels of diversity and experienced first-hand the different pathways paved for immigrants from different Latin American countries, including her own parents who benefited from the previous Wet Foot, Dry Foot policy.

Lauren Newton

Laura was born in Lima, Peru of Colombian and Australian parents, but has lived in Bogota for the better part of her life. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Journalism and History at Northeastern University in 2013. Upon completion of her studies, she moved back to Colombia, where she worked at the International Desk for one of the private networks, Caracol Television.
