Located in Washington, DC and endowed with renowned academics and practitioners who engage with Latin America, CLAS provides a rich research environment to members of its community. The Center uses these resources to support students’ research efforts and also welcomes scholars and practitioners from the region to leverage the center’s location and faculty in support of their research endeavors.

ProPELAC

ProPELAC (Program on the Political Economy of Latin America and the Caribbean) is a multidisciplinary research group of faculty, practitioners, and students which aims to support Georgetown University faculty and students who conduct research on the political economy of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Visiting Researcher Program

CLAS hosts a limited number of Visiting Researchers from around the world to conduct their research while becoming integrated members of the CLAS community. Learn more about the Visiting Researcher program here.

Latin America Research Seminar

The Latin America Research Seminar (LARS) highlights research projects from faculty, visiting researchers, and Ph.D. students in a biweekly seminar.

Reflejos

Reflejos is a collection of academic reflections assembled and distributed annually by the Center for Latin American Studies.

Research and Conference Grants

The CLAS Research Grants Program aims to encourage Georgetown faculty and students to carry out research focused on Latin America and the Caribbean, and to enhance the conduct of that research.
