Javier Ochoa (CLAS ’20) and Alberto Maresca (CLAS ’25) met in Brussels earlier this month to exchange notes about their experience in CLAS. Javier is an Emergency Policy Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean at DG ECHO, the EU Commission Unit working on crisis response with a focus on climate. Alberto is a Blue Book Trainee at the Americas division in the European External Action Service, where he works on EU-Latin America relations with particular attention to the upcoming EU-CELAC Summit to be held in Colombia next month. He is also a doctoral student at Ghent University and fellow at the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies. CLAS thanks Javier and Alberto for staying in touch and is thrilled to have a growing community of alumni in Brussels and across the world.
