Students

CLAS offers multiple avenues for students of any age, background, and trajectory to engage academically and professionally with Latin America and the Caribbean. With regard to degree and credentialing programs, we offer a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies, a graduate certificate in Latin American Studies, and an undergraduate minor in Latin American studies, all within Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service.

Master of Arts in Latin American Studies

The M.A. degree offers students a rigorous and interdisciplinary program that combines education in Latin American culture, history, and politics with the foundations of social sciences, government, and business.

Graduate Certificate in Latin American Studies

The graduate certificate allows students pursuing other graduate programs at Georgetown to follow a course of study that offers a rich and diverse familiarity with Latin America, complementing students’ core education in their chosen interest area.

Undergraduate Minor in Latin American Studies

The undergraduate minor allows those in any of Georgetown’s undergraduate schools to pursue a specific regional academic focus on Latin America in conjunction with their major program.
