James Virgil

Hometown: Winston Salem, NC

Bio: James is a first-year student in the CLAS Master’s program at Georgetown University, pursuing a Master of the Arts degree in Latin American Studies and a Graduate Certificate in International Business Diplomacy. He is a business growth leader with experience in analytics and cybersecurity startups, serving as an advisor to both Astral Insights and Eurekas Community as well as a member of iboss’s account executive team. James has academic experience in Chile and Cuba, and has worked abroad in Ecuador and Nicaragua. He plans to continue growing his knowledge and understanding of Latin America’s political, social, economic, historical, and cultural identity through this program and to pursue a career in emerging-market development upon its completion. James received his Bachelor of the Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Wake Forest University and enjoys basketball, golf, and fly fishing.
