The series is designed to provide the CLAS and Georgetown University community an opportunity to meet and talk with the region’s ambassadors about contemporary issues impacting their country and the hemisphere.
Moderator and Academic Director of CLAS, Professor Angelo Rivero Santos, asked pointed questions regarding migration, transit migration, regional cooperation, drug trafficking, and Honduras-China relations. Ambassador Bu addressed these complex themes conversationally, granting students the opportunity to ask questions and create ties between the Ambassador’s words and their own research. The panel was followed by a student-led Q&A that touched upon security, human rights, and Honduras-US relations. The conversation ended with the Ambassador’s invaluable insights and advice to Georgetown University’s future diplomats and policymakers.
