Dr. Rodríguez Sumano (CLAS ’02) will discuss the material and cultural power of the United States as a superpower in transformation as well as the United States’ imperial and geopolitical roots amid competing global rivals China and Russia. The presentation will explore the regional rupture in North America and Europe, as well as a breakdown in international cooperation and multilateralism, which leads to increasing vulnerabilities, risks and threats to hemispheric and global security. The event will be moderated by Dr. Fabiana Sofia Perera (CLAS ’10) in collaboration with the Georgetown University Center for Security Studies (CSS). We hope you can join us for this timely and important event.
