Valencia has spent most of her time in Alexandria, VA. She graduated from Virginia Tech and received a BA in International Studies. After graduation, Valencia began working in Development at Deloitte Consulting LLP within their Emerging Markets practice with projects based in Kosovo and Qatar. After gaining a solid foundation with development projects, she accepted a position at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where many of her projects focused on internal compliance frameworks for illicit financing with poor regulatory qualities in Colombia and Mexico. She recently completed Georgetown’s summer program in Bogotá, Colombia where she worked at the Agencia para la Reincorporación y la Normalización (ARN). At the ARN, she analyzed the successes and challenges of reincorporating former combatants in Colombia. She focused primarily on the impacts of stigmatization between Colombian citizens and former FARC combatants while developing artifacts that embedded change management strategies for ARN’s Office of Assessment and Strategy in preparation for a path towards public-sector innovation. When she is not working and advising public sector clients, she loves watching Real Madrid games, snowboarding, traveling, and grilling whenever she can.
