Abby Tank
Hometown: Wilmington, North Carolina
Bio: I was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington in May 2024 with a degree in International Affairs and Spanish and competed for the university’s volleyball team. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted research on the impact of organized crime on democracy in Brazil and investigated the impact of US-Panama relations on Panama’s democratic development. I also served on the executive board for my university’s chapter of Global Medical Brigades, where I had the opportunity to lead and serve on two volunteer brigades to Panama. In the summer of 2023, I completed an internship with the Honorary Consulate of Belize in North Carolina as the Executive Assistant to the Consul. After my Master’s, I am planning to work for the State Department as a political officer in the Foreign Service.
