Brooke McLaughlin

Bio: Brooke McLaughlin is a sophomore majoring in International Political Economy with minors in Latin American Studies and Spanish. She has focused her studies on Mexico and the political and economic relationship between Mexico and the United States. Past research has examined the relationship between Mexico’s international trade and longevity of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) political party. She plans to study abroad in Mérida, Mexico. She has served as a tutor for the DC Schools Project and dances with Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Georgetown. Additionally, she works in operations for REUSE, Georgetown’s sustainable non-profit that focuses on eliminating textile waste. She has professional teaching and lifeguarding experience, as well.
