Liesl Kunz

Bio: Liesl Kunz is an Operations Coordinator at the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, a regional center of the Department of Defense. As an Operations Coordinator she oversees the execution of executive education courses, seminars, and security cooperation events with partner nations across the Americas and the Caribbean. Liesl has over 10 years of experience studying the culture and history of Latin America, two of those years spent living and working in Arequipa, Peru. Liesl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies and a secondary major in Spanish Studies from Brigham Young University. She is currently a second-year master’s candidate at the Center for Latin American Studies in the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Her current research interests include U.S.-Mexico relations, Latin American art, and Indigenous crops and sustainable farming practices as they pertain to local economic growth in Peru and Bolivia.
