Sharona Nagamuthu
Class of 2026
Hometown: Queens, New York
Bio: Sharona Nagamuthu (SFS ’26) is a senior in the Walsh School of Foreign Service, majoring in international politics with a concentration in international law. Along with the minor in Latin American studies, she is also pursuing a minor in Spanish. Having been born in Georgetown, Guyana, the only English-speaking country in South America, Sharona grew up with a deep awareness of her country’s unique place in the region. This background sparked her interest in pursuing studies of Latin America, a region she feels is too often overlooked in global conversations. Through internships with the New York City Department of Education and the Latino Economic Development Center in Washington, D.C., she has since focused her academic and professional interests on advancing educational access. She is especially committed to supporting communities that are historically underserved and often excluded from meaningful opportunities, with the goal of helping bridge educational inequities.
