Wilson Almeida
Visiting Researcher
Wilson Almeida earned his PhD in History of International Relations from the University of Brasilia. He has completed five postdoctoral studies: two at Georgetown University (2009 and 2018), one at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2008), and two at Taiwan National University (2014 and 2016). Additionally, he holds a master's degree in international economics from the University of Santiago in Spain (1983). Professor Almeida has published 47 scientific articles in indexed journals and 19 books and e-books.
In addition to his academic achievements, he has worked in private companies, including supermarket chains, a sugar and alcohol plant, and the plastics industry. Furthermore, he has held positions in public organizations such as the Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast, where he served as the director of funds, tax benefits, and investment attraction, and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, where he held the role of institutional relations manager.
He has also worked in the governments of Minas Gerais and Goiás states in Brazil, promoting investments and attracting several national and foreign companies to establish operations in these states.
Throughout his academic career, Professor Almeida has held key positions at several universities in Brazil, such as the Catholic University of Brasília, Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás, University Center of Goiás, Unialfa-Goiás, and IESB University Center of Brasília.
