On Friday, October 27th, the CLAS Community came together for our first Latin America and The Caribbean (LAC) Moments event to discuss the recent Argentine elections. Students and faculty were able to hear from Professor Michael Shifter and Professor Gonzalo Paz about how Argentina arrived at its current electoral battle and what this will mean for the future of Latin America. The discussion was then opened up to students and faculty, who asked questions regarding the state of political parties in Argentina, similarities to recent Latin American elections and how this election will shape Argentina’s global partnerships. Thanks to all who attended this first event in the series, and please be sure to keep an eye out for more from LAC Moments in the future!
