Hometown: San Jose, Costa Rica
Bio: Andrés was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica, before moving to Washington, D.C. for his undergraduate studies at American University. Andrés majored in International Relations, minored in Religious Studies, and completed a Spanish Translation Certificate. During his time, he interned at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also studied abroad in Brussels, Belgium. His undergraduate thesis explored the impact and efficacy of American foreign aid directed to Central America in a project commissioned by the United States Department of State. Upon graduation, he worked as a program assistant at the Council on Foreign Relations. In his free time, Andrés enjoys watching basketball and soccer.
