Bio: Gabrielle Boyd is a first-year candidate in the Latin American Studies program in the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She graduated in December of 2022 from Oklahoma State University with dual degrees in Global Studies and Spanish. During her undergraduate studies, She conducted research on the economic effectiveness of non-governmental organizations in Ecuador, and the differences between Western-based and nationally-based organizations. She also was a member of the student council for her respective college and worked as the liaison between first-year undergraduates and upperclassmen. In the summer of 2022, she completed an internship in Quito, Ecuador with an organization known as Idea Dignidad, a nonpolitical organization that works to promote women's rights and provides psychological services for victims of domestic abuse. She is looking forward to learning more about Latin America through the program and aspires to work for a think tank upon graduation.
