Isabella is a graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in Spanish and International Studies. She followed her passion for Latin American language and culture to Chile, where she studied at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and traveled extensively in Latin America in 2016. As an undergraduate, Isabella completed an Honors thesis examining transnational identity in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands as exhibited through punk rock music. In 2017, she interned for the General Consul to Guayaquil, Ecuador through the Virtual Student Foreign Service helping to teach English to university students through social media platforms.
Isabella is currently pursuing the dual program of a Master’s in Latin American Studies and a Juris Doctor where she is focusing on international law at the Georgetown University Law Center. This past summer, she interned for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Bogotá, Colombia working with MAPP-OEA to create a nationwide program that encourages victims and victim organizations to submit their experiences to the JEP. She also researched the overarching theme of transitional justice and analyzed how it may be applied to the current peace process in Colombia. She hopes to gain legal experience next summer working in immigration law and to study abroad during her third year of law school.
She is currently enrolled at the Law Center campus and will graduate from the dual program in May 2021.
