Carolina Haber

Carolina is a visiting researcher at the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at Georgetown University, researching the capacity of empirical data production to impact and influence public policy and debate, consequently changing the political decision-making environment. Haber is a lawyer by training and has a master's degree (2006) and PhD (2010) in the Sociology of Law with a focus on criminology at the University of São Paulo. She worked for the federal government of Brazil under the Lula da Silva administration as an advisor first to the Secretary of Legislative Affairs at the Ministry of Justice and then to the Secretary of Legal Affairs at The Ministry of Civil Affairs. As an advisor, Carolina crafted and edited criminal law and procedure bills.
