Hometown: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Bio: Jessica is a second-year student in the Master’s program, born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She recently graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, in Politics and International Studies with minors in Latin American & Caribbean Studies, French, and Peace & Justice Studies. Jessica has interned for various non-profit organizations including Humaid in Aix-en-Provence, France and Atlas Corps in Washington, D.C and is interning at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). She traveled to Aix-en-Provence in order to improve her fluency in French and then continued to travel to Washington, D.C. where she discovered her love for foreign policy. She is one of the Princeton University Junior Summer 2020 Fellows, where at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs she strengthened her statistics and her policy-building skills. She was President of the Fairfield University Model United Nations Club and Senior Co-Leader of Campus Ministry’s Lectors, and currently is President of the Georgetown Latin American Foreign Affairs Association and a member of the School of Foreign Service Graduate Student Council. Jessica has worked on research on the #MeToo Movement that was accepted by Harvard College’s Engaged Scholarship & Undergraduate Research Conference and focused her undergraduate capstone on Mercosur and the European Union. She looks forward to this program to sharpen her skills and expertise in Latin American Studies.
