Bio: Maria de Lourdes is a second-year M.A. candidate at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, where she’s pursuing a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and a Graduate Certificate in International Business Diplomacy. Within her first year at Georgetown University, Maria de Lourdes completed an internship at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
She recently graduated from American University with a B.A. in International Studies, concentrating in Global Governance and International Development in Latin America, and with minors in Economics and French. While at AU, she spent a semester in Sciences Po Paris, studying Political Science and Economics. Before starting at Georgetown University, Maria de Lourdes was a Program Associate at the Council of the Americas. During her undergraduate study, she interned with the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Pan-American Development Foundation, UNESCO, the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Washington, DC, the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic and worked at AU as a Spanish tutor.
