Bio: Marvin Jay Wiley is from Reading, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Tampa, Florida and studied for an academic school year in Japan while in high school. Before graduating with his B.A in political science from Temple University, he briefly studied at the University of Oviedo in Oviedo, Spain. He worked as a paralegal at a law firm and community outreach coordinator for a public relations firm in Philadelphia. He taught English and the humanities in Cali, Colombia and Spanish and ESL at a Philadelphia public school. He recently completed Georgetown’s summer program in Bogotá, Colombia where he interned at the National Planning Department where he researched the Colombian peace accord with the FARC and reparations programs in countries affected by armed conflict. He enjoys traveling and mentoring his former students.
