Bio: Winaly Simpson is a first-generation college student and a 2022 Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Fellow. She graduated from American University in December 2021 with a degree in economics and international studies. Winaly interned for nonprofits, the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Senate, and taught English abroad in Italy during her undergraduate career. After undergrad, She spent three months in Brazil studying Brazilian culture, politics, and Portuguese. Winaly was a data analytics intern for a financial services institution in the summer of 2022, where she provided internal consulting services around data engineering.
