Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Bio: Mason is a second-year M.A. student in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in the Latin American Studies program. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Government & Politics with a concentration in International Relations, and a B.A. in Spanish Language, Literatures, and Cultures with a minor in Portuguese.
Mason has interned with the Embassy of Spain in Washington, DC, and has completed two internships with the U.S. Department of State: one in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, and the other in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. Both of which were with Regional China Officers investigating PRC influence in the region. Additionally, Mason has interned with the Organization of American States (OAS) in the Department of Electoral Cooperation and Observation (DECO). Currently he is completing his third internship with the U.S. Department of State, which is a Pathways position to post-graduate employment.
